I've had many requests for updates on my current book projects. Granted, most of them were about book 2 of I AM SLEEPLESS, but here is the latest on all of them.
- I finished chapter 10 of I AM SLEEPLESS: SEARCH FOR THE READER last week (before taking a break for High Adventure Scout Camp). There are 12 more chapters to go in the first draft and I'm still shooting for an October 2016 release. It's coming along nicely and I'm super excited about the story line.
- 4 YEARS TRAPPED IN MY MIND PALACE is out on submission with a few editors as we speak. I'm patiently tapping my fingers, biting my fingernails, and checking my email way too often as I eagerly await to hear back and see if any of them pick up the novel. If they do, the release will most likely be next year. If not, I will self-publish the book and shoot for a Nov-Dec 2016 release.
- The novella, 30 RED DRESSESwww.johantwiss.com/30-red-dresses.html (formerly titled FREEDOM -> formerly titled ABOLERE) is about 40% through the 3rd draft. I've put the project on hold while I finish book 2 of I AM SLEEPLESS, but it's on my radar after IAS #2.
- SEA THE GREEN IN BLUE (working title) is a short story I started while at Scout High Adventure Camp this past week. I scrawled this story the old fashioned way with a pen and a notebook. It's only 4 chapters long (total length) and I love this story. Maybe it was the exhaustion from my 8-mile kayak trip or the 22 miles of mountain biking, but it had me in tears by the end. I have plans to submit this to the new e-magazine, DEEP MAGIC (which if you haven't checked this e-mag out yet, you should. It's all CLEAN scifi/fantasy short stories. )
And there you have it, my friends. If all goes well, there could be 2-4 new releases by the end of the year. That means I still have 16 book ideas on my list to start writing. The only problem is I add 5 new ideas for every book I finish. If it's a never-ending battle, but I will carry on.
