I randomly came across this contest on Facebook and the concept intrigued me. It's not like most literary contests since it's geared toward cinematic appeal for movies and TV. The winner gets a small cash prize ($1,000), but the main appeal for me was getting my stories in front of agents, managers, producers, and studio execs.
- The grand prize winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000.
- Circulation and personal recommendation of winning book to our network of literary agents, managers, film/ TV producers and studio executives.
- Phone call with ScreenCraft development team to discuss your project and advise on option/purchase offers.
The contest started with over 1,200 entries, and the semifinalist narrowed it down to 126 entires (at least that's how many I counted on their site as I scrolled through them on my phone). Since I have 2 books in the semifinals, I only have 124 other stories to beat. Let's do this!
